Motivational Monday Series- Believing in yourself

Believing in yourself is the key goal to accomplishing the things that we want to. But it’s also the key thing that many of us lack to do, me included. I’d describe myself as a confident and bubbly person but when it comes to believing in my own ability to accomplish things I often feel I’m not good enough and sometimes I’d say id feel inadequate. I don’t actually know why I feel this way or where it stems from but over time I would say that my self confidence in my own ability has decreased. Maybe I feel as though that if I believe in myself too much and I end up failing I’ll only be left disappointed so maybe that’s why i perhaps often fail to believe in myself simply so I can avoid the disappointment.

But over time I have learnt that if I don’t believe in myself then who will.  The only limits we have are the ones we set ourselves. Too many times we forget that we are braver than we believe, stronger than we often seem and smarter than we think. Whatever we believe about ourselves on the inside is what we manifest on the outside and is what we show the world. So from now on, I’m going to start believing in myself a little more. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy but I know that it’s something that I need to do because I’ve learnt that when I do believe in myself I can overcome any obstacle.

  6. great post. this is really inspiring. I don't really believe in my abilities, out of the same reasons you talked about, but I should really start to.

  7. I've been trying to think like this lately, I used to be pretty confident but after I started university it all changed, I think it was because it's so strict and most people fail a lot of subjects, myself included. But you're totally right, we have to think we're capable of doing anything we want, because who will if we don't do it ourselves? :)

    1. I used to be really confident as well, but as soon as I got into sixth form somewhere along the line it all changed I think some times people who are the most confident can often be the ones who are most insecure

  8. I try to think like this all the time, it is difficult but it's really great to know that other people have the same mindset. I think once you come out and say that you've had difficult time periods in your life like this, it definitely becomes easier to improve your attitude positively, real inspiring post

  11. I can totally relate to this. Sometimes it's hard to balance believing in yourself, but also being realistic about expectations. I think as we get older and take more chances, we surprise ourselves time and time again. After a while it becomes pretty evident that you have to truly want/try for something in order to make it happen. Also reminds me of this quote from The Alchemist "when you want something bad enough, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it" (probably paraphrased that but w.e)

Love this post ! It's the perfect reminder :)

  12. Lovely post! This is so true. I sometimes lack confidence and believing in myself---I'm used to thinking "I'm not good enough" about certain things.
It isn't easy to always believe in yourself, but after seeing this post I'm really going to try harder :)

  13. I really love quotes in general but even more so this one!! I think we all need to tell ourselves to believe in ourselves more often as you quite rightly said "the only limits we have are the ones we set ourselves". Loved this post and found it really quite helpful, thank you!

    1. Thanks for your comment hun, and yeah I couldn't agree more your right failure is apart from success I should have mentioned this when writing this post as without failure we cannot possibly begin to grow but we have to believe in ourselves to take the opportunities where sometimes failure is an option x x
