Blood Brothers-Theatre Review

One of the presents I got for my Mums birthday was tickets for us to go and see Blood Brothers. Over the years I’ve heard so many good reviews about the show and since then I’ve always wanted to go. When I saw the tickets on sale I was in so much shock that I didn’t hesitate before booking it and I’m so glad that I did because Blood Brothers is the type of show that can make you laugh, cry and really think about the choices we make in life.

Blood Brothers is a gripping and captivating story about a woman named Mrs Johnson who is left by her husband with seven hungry mouths to feed. Mrs Johnson takes up a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet when she discovers that she is pregnant again but this time with Twins. Mrs Johnson is left devastated and shocked as she worries about how she will be able to provide for them both when she already has several kids. In a moment of weakness and desperation Mrs Johnson makes an agreement with her employer who is desperate for a child of her own, that she may have one of the babies when it is born. This story follows how two men, separated at birth only to be reunited by a twist of fate and a mothers haunting secret.
I have seen plenty of musicals/shows/ play etc. in my time and this has definitely got to be my favourite. I’d honestly urge anyone to go and see this and to hear the tale of the Johnson brothers as its truly fantastic. The next show that I'm going to see is the global musical phenomenon Wicked and I cannot wait!
